Bereavement Support

Amy Sileski, SBD

Amy and her husband, Mike, lost their first child, Jacob, to stillbirth in 2010. That loss paved the way and gave Amy the desire to support others experiencing loss and ultimately led to her becoming a birth and bereavement doula. Her personal experience, compassion, and understanding as well as her specialized training give her a unique ability to support, comfort and walk alongside those suffering loss. She is able to companion mother and families in the sacred space where birth and bereavement meet.

As a certified Stillbirthday Birth and Bereavement Doula, Amy walks with, supports and guides families who are experiencing the loss of their baby, whether expected or sudden. She supports birth in any trimester including miscarriage, stillbirth, terminal prenatal diagnosis, carrying to term, and infant loss.

Amy can also offer gentle suggestions that facilitate bonding experiences between the family and the baby during their time together as well as serve as a liaison to the hospital and funeral home.

If you or a mother you know are currently pregnant with a baby who has been given a fatal diagnosis, are miscarrying, or having a stillbirth and would like the support of a doula during your labor, please contact Amy as soon as possible.

Bereavement Doula Support is offered at NO CHARGE and operates on a donation/pay-it-forward basis. If you would like to donate to provide doula support to those experiencing the loss of their baby or would like to contribute in honor and memory of your child, you can do that here.
